Common questions

A reminder didn’t ring or show up

Check these in the Settings app, under Notifications, then Remember Nothing:

  • Allow Notifications is on.
  • The alert style is not set to None.
  • If a Focus is on, Remember Nothing is allowed in that Focus.

For reminders you marked as alarms, the app also needs the Alarms permission. If you declined it, you can allow it in Settings, under Remember Nothing. Open the reminder and check that the alarm option is on.

How do I add an item or a reminder by voice?

Tap the microphone in the add bar and speak. On Where, say the item and its place, such as “spare scissors, kitchen drawer.” An item is saved at once when both are heard. On Remind, say what and when, such as “call Mom tomorrow at 9.”

The first time, allow the microphone and speech recognition. Voice is recognised on your iPhone, so it needs your iPhone’s on-device speech recognition for your language, and it may be unavailable if that isn’t installed. Voice currently understands English.

How do I ask Siri where something is?

Include the app’s name, for example: “Where is my passport in Remember Nothing?” Siri needs the name to know which app to ask. Your item names are known to Siri on your iPhone. If you don’t want that, turn off Show Content in Search for Remember Nothing in the Settings app.

What are the free limits? What does the unlock do?

Free, you can keep up to 25 items, 3 items with an expiry or warranty date, and 1 nag-until-done reminder. Reminders, repeats, alarms, voice, Siri, search, photos, notes and backup are always free. The one-time unlock removes the limits and adds the full icon library. There is no subscription.

The limits only stop you adding more. Your existing items are never hidden, locked or deleted.

I bought the unlock but it shows as locked

Open Settings in the app (tap the sky icon at the top of the Where or Remind tab) and tap Restore purchase. You need to be signed in to the same Apple ID that bought it. If it still doesn’t work, email us and include the date of the purchase.

How do I back up, move to a new iPhone, or restore?

In Settings (the sky icon), use Back up to save a file to a place you choose, such as iCloud Drive or Files. On the new iPhone, install the app, open Settings and use Restore to pick that file. The app never sends your backup anywhere, so keep the file safe: it contains your items and reminders, and it isn’t encrypted.

I deleted something by mistake

Right after a swipe, tap Undo. After that, an item can only come back from a backup you made earlier. We can’t recover it for you, because your data is never on our servers.

I don’t want my items to show in search

In the iPhone’s Settings app, open Remember Nothing, then Siri & Search, and turn off Show Content in Search. Item names then stop showing in Spotlight.

Which devices does it work on?

Remember Nothing is an iOS app for iPhone and iPad. It needs iOS 26 or later.

What do you collect about me?

No accounts, and your items and reminders never leave your device. The app counts a few anonymous things, never any text. The full detail is in the privacy policy.

Found a bug or have an idea?

Write to support@remembernothing.app. The app is built to do two things quickly, find where you put something and remember to do something, so ideas that save a tap matter most.
